Grid Art

This is my piece of grid art. I created a duck out of skittles filling up each column one by one. This was very interesting and creative and I enjoyed myself.

Flipbook

This is my animation flip book. There is a lovely balloon rising into the sky as it suddenly gets shot and popped by an arrow. The balloon is then dispersed into the air and flutters down in pieces. This flip book was a very interesting project to partake in and I'm excited to see my other peers work.

Opera Assignment

     Opera plays a huge role in our history. This genre of classical music was born in Italy around four hundred years ago. Opera is such a beautiful art because all different cultures from around the world appreciate and enjoy opera.
      "Mine-en-scène" is how every aspect of the arrangement is placed. The director overlooks and creates the scene. He or she picks and chooses when everything happens, how it is portrayed, and where it goes down. The Lighting, furniture, props, and costume choices are also executed by the director to set the tone and mood of the set.
 As I was watching "Madame Butterfly," I definitely discovered a great amount about the genre of opera. It is jam packed with emotion and intensity that flows throughout the piece. In every scene, I noticed that the performers are so passionate about their role in the act. They spill out their true emotions using the way they move and how they display their body movements making the viewers extremely engaged and excited. 
     I'm sure the audience was in absolute awe when this piece was originally presented. When you have such great performers giving each scene one hundred percent of effort, the energy will radiate throughout the crowd. Whatever feeling the performers were depicting for each scene, the audience was most likely feeling the exact same if not more. 
     This piece plays an important role in opera history. "Madame Butterfly" is Giacomo Puccini's first performance. This peice brings a new composer into the opera world which is exciting for opera fans during their time period.
     In my opinion, technology does not play a huge role in these operas. Of course you have lighting and other dramatic effects in the remade versions, but before the 1920's technology was limited. This is not restricted to just the technology in the actual performance either. In the Era we live in, almost everything is recorded and captured which is then shared throughout the media worldwide for anyone to see. This is arguably a positive and a negative aspect of technology. When people can view these performances online through a screen, they are less likely to go see the act live. This takes away the experience of attending an opera or any performance live, which in my opinion is irreplaceable. With less technology, the performance is way more raw and genuine. When "Madame Butterfly" was created, the performers cannot depend on any effects or technology that can alter the act. The performance is in their hands to execute correctly and passionately.
      Video games are extremely popular for people of all ages, gender, and ethnicities. I can not imagine playing an opera video game, but if I had to turn this piece into one, I would try to make it as fun and creative as possible. I would make sure that you are not only playing the role of a performer in the 1900s, but living the everyday life as one too. The main objective of the game would be to perform "Madame Butterfly" at the very end with no mistakes. Throughout the story line, the game would teach you how to control your character as you go on. You would rehearse each scene many times until you have it down confidently or until you pass the mission. 
     Opera is such an important art form to have in our society. It brings people together from all around the world. Performers show incredible emotion during an act and it is truly amazing. After becoming more familiar with opera, I believe that the show business and even award winning movies stem from the authenticity and the creativeness of opera.

Cuero's Interview

     Dr. Raul Cuero discusses how he overcame obstacles through creativity and innovation. He explains how his father pretended that he knew how to write and read. This made Rual promise himself to never be like this, causing him to excel in academics and soccer. When he then moved on his own to play basketball, he faced a lot of harsh prejudice and discrimination. Creatively, he did not take this in a bad way. He told himself he needed to improve and better the way he spoke, dressed, and behaved, outsmarting the people trying to hold him back. During the interview, Rual explains it is very important to have a universal conscious. When you have an understanding with nature and the world as a whole, it is way easier to solve or approach local conflicts. Using Rual's creative ways of thinking can shape you into a more mature person. He is never afraid of any obstacles and uses his life experiences to learn more about society and to build himself into a more productive person.

Introduction

     My name is Brayden Krispel and I am a freshman at the University of Tampa. I was born and raised in Hamilton New Jersey. I attended a public high school called Steinert. My current major is media and film. In my spare time I love to make music and spend as much time with friends and family. During my summers I frequently spend a week or weekend in Wildwood Crest. My family and I also take a vacation to Aruba about once a year to enjoy the Caribbean weather. Here is a funny picture of me participating in my high school's fashion show.
